The Modern Quilt Guild releases a free pattern for members every month. I love them all and have been wanting to make one for quite some time. My son's 10th birthday was coming up so I let him pick out a pattern - he chose City Lights (download here if you are a Modern Quilt Guild member).
My son went to two quilt stores with me to pick out the solids/colors he wanted. Then checked in on my progress about every 30 minutes or so to see if it was done yet.
The top came together quickly, and screamed for some fun quilting.
My son wanted a gray solid out of my stash for the backing. Of course I was short so I used some leftover turquoise to fill it in.
I had a lot of fun quilting this one up. I used a variety of digital designs with a lot of straight line quilting.
It's a beautiful quilt. You did a great job of quilting.
