Current Projects

I did a little project inventory and took some pictures to share. These are all projects I'm currently working on or getting ready to start - at least the ones I'm willing to share. If you are anything like me, there are so many cute fabrics, patterns, and projects to do, I can never seem to find the time to do all of them!

I am determined to start finishing these!

I love, LOVE, LOVE! the It's a Hoot fabric line by MoMo from Moda, and I think it will look great in the Piece of Cake (2) pattern by Thimble Blossoms seeing how I couldn't even handle the thought of cutting up some of those beautiful designs!

The new Sunkissed line is so refreshing! I think it will look awesome in this basket pattern.

This is a quilt kit I purchased at Piper's Quilts and Comforts.

I have a couple of quilts that need to be quilted...(can you also tell I have a couple of walls that need to be painted too ;)

One that needs binding...

Since I finished the hat for my daughter, my son has been bugging me for one. I'm doing his in black, sans flowers of course.

Lastly (at least that I'm willing to share), I have started some leggings for my daughter...for when she's a bit older. Look how nice my crochet stitches are! I'm so proud, my tension has really improved.

Kowboy Kash Quilt

This was made for a co-worker's grandson, Kash. His room is cowboy themed.

I was very happy with the appliqued letters and the quilting. This is only the second quilt I have quilted with my new HandiQuilter 16. I think the stars and loops turned out really nice, and it handled two thread colors perfectly!

My First Crochet Project

About a month or so ago, a girlfriend and I decided to learn to crochet or knit. Piper's Quilts in Sugarhouse offers a free, weekly class designed to teach people to knit/crochet and help them keep on task with projects. SK is the main teacher for crocheters (apparently most people knit) and she is super fantastic! Thanks SK!

Here is a picture of me proudly displaying my first finished product - the Abby Hat I made for my little Pookie. I will try to remember to snap a photo of her in it this weekend and post.

Oh My!

Just a teaser picture...I will post more soon!

Mark the Dad's Birthday Party

Fun with the family!

We drove down to Huntington last weekend to celebrate Papa Bear's 62nd birthday gathering. We really love this entire side of the family and wish we lived closer. All the cousins have so much fun playing together, my Mark enjoys his brothers and brother-in-law, and I enjoy chatting with all my sister-in-laws.

Hopefully we will live closer someday soon!

Zosia's Quilt

My girlfriend asked that I make her daughter a quilt, which I gladly agreed to. Here were my instructions/guidelines: She likes horses, realistic horses, and purple and pinks. Not really my thing.

Luckily, my mom found this great realistic horse fabric with all sorts of pinks and purples in it. I finished this quilt a month or so ago and today is Zosia's 5th birthday party.

You'll notice that the back is a very fun girly pattern and colors. I got to thinking the front might be a bit harsh, particularly in a girl's room, so I thought if nothing else (or if she outgrows horses) she can always flip it over!

Boo Boo's Stuffed Block

I saw this idea in a magazine and thought I would make this for my girlfriend's son for his first birthday. They nicknamed him Boo Boo, and I thought this would be a cute memory for them, not really thinking the baby would like it all that much. As it turns out, Boo Boo loved it! I guess he particularly loves to sit on it.
